Report: One-third of Hurricane Florence hospital visits were to refill medications

NORTH CAROLINA — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said people need to be better prepared for hurricanes, specifically with their medications.

They are using Hurricane Florence as an example.

A new report said one-third of hospital visits during the hurricane were for people who needed prescription refills.

The CDC said hospitals, doctors, and pharmacists should do more to emphasize that people should have enough medications to last through a storm and its aftermath.
