Report: York police chief violated pursuit policy

YORK, S.C. — Chief Andy Robinson violated the police department's pursuit policy in April, according to a York city manager’s report.

Robinson should have recognized that officers were going too fast and following too close while chasing a man accused of stealing a car, the report stated.

The report does not address allegations into the chief's use of force during the arrest.

South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has yet to release its report on the use of force allegations.
