CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Yama Izakaya is closing in Plaza Midwood after six years.
The Japanese restaurant posted on social media that its lease was expiring. Its last day of operating will be Dec. 15.

It is located at 1324 Central Ave., part of the Central Square development.
Crosland Southeast and Nuveen Real Estate paid nearly $50 million for the 12-acre site earlier this year. Plans for office and retail space and apartments are still being finalized.
