CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police had to close part of a South End road after a reported shooting Tuesday morning.
Officers were called just before 10:30 a.m. to Fairwood Avenue, near South Tryon Street.

Officials said one person was taken to the hospital but it was unclear how badly they were hurt. No other details were released.
Officers had blocked off Fairwood Avenue, right in front of a Citgo gas station, and Channel 9 could see several bullet shells in the street.
By the time police arrived, they said the suspect had left the scene, and no description has been released.
Investigators are trying to find anyone who may have witnessed the shooting.
