Road closures begin Thursday for Belk Bowl FanFest, game

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Belk Bowl FanFest begins at 9 a.m. and goes until 12 p.m. Friday, December 29 at Bank of America Stadium. The Belk Bowl FanFest concert begins at 10 a.m.

Event organizers expect 40,000 participants. FanFest activities will be on South Mint Street between West Morehead Street and West 1st Street and on South Graham and West Stonewall streets between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and South Church Street.

Street closures begin on Thursday, December 28 at 9 a.m. and will reopen Saturday, December 30 at 1 a.m. Street closures are below:

  • South Mint Street between West Morehead Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard
  • South Graham Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and South Mint Street
  • West Stonewall Street between Mint Street and Church Street

The Belk Bowl game begins on Friday, December 29 at 1 p.m. at Bank of America Stadium. Streets and lanes in the vicinity of the stadium will be closed to vehicular traffic to accommodate large pedestrian flows, as is done for all major events at Bank of America Stadium. These closures typically occur about two hours prior to the start of events. Commuters should expect heavier traffic and congestion during evening rush hour.
