Uptown roads shut down ahead of Saturday's Belk Bowl

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Belk Bowl festivities don't start until Saturday but lane closures have already started ahead of the event that's supposed to draw 40,000 attendees.

The Fan Fest starts at 9 a.m. and lasts until kickoff at noon.

Road closures are expected to last until early Sunday morning.

The below roads will be closed from Friday at 9 a.m. until Sunday at 1 a.m.: 

  • South Mint Street from Morehead to 1st streets.
  • West Stonewall Street from Church and Mint streets
  • South Graham Street from Mint to Morehead streets.

The game between South Carolina and Virginia airs on Channel 9 Saturday at noon.
