Rock Hill community leans on on one another for support in wake of mass shooting

ROCK HILL, S.C. — A community continues to grieve two weeks after six people lost their lives in a mass shooting in York County.

A prominent doctor, his wife, two young grandchildren and two heating and air conditioning technicians were killed on April 7 at their home on Marshall Road.

Former NFL pro Phillip Adams killed them before turning the gun on himself.

Rock Hill Mayor John Gettys was close to Dr. Robert Lesslie and his family. Gettys said Thursday that it’s critical that the community takes a step back and mourns the loss.

“This isn’t going to be OK tomorrow,” Gettys said. “It’s going to take some time, and we’ve got to accept that it’s gonna take some time.”
