Rum-centric bar opens in Charlotte’s Belmont neighborhood

CHARLOTTE — A two-story, rum-centric urban oasis has opened at 933 Louise Ave., in Charlotte’s Belmont neighborhood.

The Royal Tot — named for the daily ration of rum provided to British soldiers — features more than 100 different rums. Plans call for a collection of 200-plus antique rum bottles in the near future.

“We’ve poured ourselves into learning the history and culture of tropical food and drink and look forward to sharing what we’ve learned — and the rum we’ve collected — with our guests,” says Ashleigh Gadd, CEO of ETA Group.

ETA Group also operates Stroke in Plaza Midwood and The Ice Trade, which produces ice for craft cocktails.
