Officials ID pedestrian killed after struck by car in Salisbury

SALISBURY, N.C. — Police said a woman was struck and killed by a car while walking back to her apartment from a convenience store in Salisbury Monday night.

Officials said 42-year-old Kimberly Regina Allen had just left the Kangaroo store on Statesville Boulevard near Lash Drive around 7:40 p.m.

Police said she was hit by a vehicle driven by 65-year-old David Bower and was killed.

Investigators said Allen stepped out into traffic and that Bower did not see her. No charges have been filed.
