SC mom hopes grants can provide funding to districts that implement mask mandates

FORT MILL, S.C. — Some parents in South Carolina are pushing state and local leaders harder to defy the state law that bans mask mandates in schools, after President Joe Biden pledged to help provide funding to districts penalized for implementing the mandates last week.

South Carolina bureau reporter Tina Terry talked to one parent who is hoping her district will take advantage of the help after her children had several close calls with the virus.
