• Woman accused of shoplifting, dragging children through Walmart


    ROCK HILL, S.C. - A woman was arrested and accused of dragging her children through Walmart as she tried to run away from loss prevention officers.

    Amber Baker, 29, was charged with shoplifting and unlawful neglect of a child.

    A worker at the Rock Hill Walmart saw Baker put a steam cleaner in her bag Thursday morning, the Herald of Rock Hilll reported.

    When a loss prevention officer tried to stop her she fled with her kids through a fire door in the pharmacy area.

    According to a police report, Baker dragged her children through the store causing one of the them to fall.

    Baker is accused of stealing over $275 in merchandise, including children’s clothes, greeting cards and wrapping paper.
