Search warrant says man, woman found dead in home were shot

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A search warrant gives new information about a Charlotte couple that was found dead in their home.

So far, police have not arrested anyone, and they have told Eyewitness News they are not looking for suspects.

According to a search warrant, police found Clyde Valentine in his bed with tape across his mouth, dead from a gunshot wound to the head. His wife, Ida, was also in the bed and police say she died in the same manner.

The search warrant reveals it was a girlfriend of the couple's son who first went to the home last week, but couldn't get anyone to come to the door.

She called her boyfriend, Malcom Valentine, who came to the home with a key. When he went inside, he found his parents dead.

The search warrant says Malcom found a gun in the home, and gave it to police.

Clyde Valentine was facing charges of taking indecent liberties with a minor. It's unclear if those charges played any factor into the deaths.

Police will only say the investigation is ongoing, but that they are not looking for any suspects.
