Missing Matthews woman found safe and sound

MATTHEWS, N.C. — Matthews police said they have found a 78-year-old woman who went missing Wednesday afternoon.

A Silver Alert was issued for Dorothy Brogan Bowen, who was last seen at 2508 Keziah Road in Matthews. Officers said she suffers from dementia or some other cognitive impairment.

Police said she was found just before noon Thursday and was OK.
