The Lady Jackets wore thin, blue line stickers on their helmets this season to show support for local police.

“We wanted to honor them and to say, ‘Thank you,’ coach Chuck Stetall said. “I wanted my players to see these people and realize what they give to our community and the contribution that they make.”

Doty's twin brother, Chris, threw out the symbolic first pitch of the game.

Mike Doty was one of four officers shot responding to a domestic call in January.

Doty died after the ambush. The other three officers survived.

The suspect, Christian McCall, was charged with nine counts including murder.

His next court date is in May.
