South Charlotte estate sells for $3.8M, marking Meck County's priciest home sale in February

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An estate in south Charlotte topped the residential real estate charts for February as the most expensive home sale in Mecklenburg County.

That French Country-style home in Charlotte’s Greenwood neighborhood sold for $3.8 million late last month. At nearly 6,000 square feet, the residence sits on a five-acre wooded lot and has features that include craftsman touches such as hand-painted fresco walls, wood floors and a stone bistro wine cellar as well as a sun terrace, gardens, a swimming pool and a carriage house for guests.

The home has five bedrooms and five full, two half-bathrooms. Built in 1968, it last sold for just shy of $2.1 million in 2005, according to county real estate records.

The property had been originally listed in the summer of 2017 for $4.25 million, according to Realtor.com.
