Deputies believed a man was inside a home, but he was not found.

Sources said the situation could be linked to an earlier shooting along Jefferson Avenue. Police said they found a 49-year-old man who had been shot in the chest sitting on the steps of a home. He had serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The SWAT situation was a little more than two miles away from that shooting scene.

Finley Road Elementary School was briefly placed on lockdown because of the police activity.
