Statesville church to hold memorial service for victims in deadly bus crash

STATESVILLE, N.C. — On Wednesday, a Statesville church will hold a memorial service for anyone who wants to pay respects to six people who died in a bus crash.

Members of Front Street Baptist Church were on their way back from a retreat in Tennessee last week when they crashed.

A private service was held Sunday.

One boy got emotional remembering the two victims he knew. His mother brought him down to the church on Sunday to mourn the losses.

Investigators say the church bus tire malfunctioned last week and crashed into a tractor-trailer and SUV.

Twelve other church members were admitted to the hospital.
