Surge in COVID cases pushing more business owners to make changes

CHARLOTTE — The surge in COVID-19 numbers across North Carolina is pushing even more business owners in our area to make changes, and to keep themselves, their employees and others safe.

That includes deciding whether to bring back mask requirements, proving someone has been vaccinated and more.

One restaurant owner told Channel 9 he’s been watching the data nonstop, trying his best to stay ahead of the curve. But he said it feels as though there’s a dark cloud approaching.

“We just want to do everything possible that we can to make sure we don’t get back to that. And if it means wearing a mask, we’re going to do it,” said south Charlotte restaurant owner Osteria Luca.
