• Suspect charged in Charlotte man's slaying in SC


    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A Charlotte man was killed while visiting a small South Carolina town.

    Police found Gregory Purvis dead two weeks ago outside a home in Bennettsville, near Cheraw. They said he was visiting family there.

    Officers arrested Keith Hicks on Tuesday and charged him with murder.

    Police said they aren't sure what led up to the killing.
