Many teachers in South Carolina want top priority for COVID-19 vaccines

FORT MILL, S.C. — North Carolina opened up vaccinations for people who are 65 and older three weeks ago. South Carolina announced Wednesday that people in Phase 2 can schedule their appointments for vaccines beginning on Monday.

But some teachers in South Carolina believe they should be a part of the current vaccine distribution plan.

Last year, hundreds of teachers went to the state Capitol asking for no in-person instruction until COVID-19 cases declined.
