Thief forces restaurant manager into bathroom at gunpoint

GASTONIA, N.C. — Police in Gastonia are trying to find the thief who robbed a fast food restaurant early Tuesday morning.

Officers said a masked man robbed the manager of the Cook Out on East Franklin Blvd. just before 7 a.m.

The store manager told Channel 9 that the man had a gun and approached him as he was opening the store. He said the thief then forced him into the bathroom, stole cash and then fled.

Police said the manager was not hurt and did not say how much money the masked man made off with.
