CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The road near The Plaza in east Charlotte has been cleared and reopened after a large tree came crashing down across the road early Thursday.
The tree was blocking the road in both directions just past Eastway Drive.

Channel 9 saw crews on scene working to get the road cleared and a powerline fixed.
There were no reported power outages caused by the fallen tree.
