Trial for man accused of beating stepdaughter to start

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — The trial for the Union County man accused of severely beating his stepdaughter will begin in just a few hours.
 
Joshua Houser pleaded not guilty to child abuse charges in December.
                               
He's accused of beating Kilah Davenport back in December 2012.
                               
Attorneys wrapped up jury selection Tuesday.
                               
They said it was difficult to find jurors because the case received so much attention.
