• Elementary school teacher injured in Clover fatal wreck


    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Troopers were called to the site of a fatal wreck Thursday afternoon on Highway 55 at Agony Acres Road near Clover.

    A Bethany Elementary School teacher was involved in the wreck, officials said. The teacher suffered minor injuries.

    The teacher, Jennings Quinn, 32, was driving an SUV on Highway 55 toward Clover when a sedan did not stop at the stop sign at Agony Acres Road and pulled out in front of her, causing the collision.

    The driver of the sedan Bonnie Sanford, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

    The passenger in the sedan, Mary McCarter, 77, was injured and taken to Carolinas Medical Center-Main.
