A section of Providence Road was closed Friday morning after an accident knocked down power lines.
The wreck occurred near the intersection of Providence and Cherokee roads.
Police said a truck was traveling down Providence Road toward the intersection when it struck a power pole.
The pole then hit a blue car. The driver of the car was not injured.
The power pole damaged the windshield and the pole was left resting on the street.
Chopper 9 flew over the scene around 10:30 a.m.
The driver of the truck told police he never left the road when he hit the pole.
Duke Energy officials restored power to the area by 4 p.m.
