Two downtown Matthews restaurants burglarized on the same day, police say

MATTHEWS, N.C. — Two Matthews restaurants have been burglarized on the same day by what police believe to be the same people.

Matthews police sent a press release to Channel 9 stating that on Tuesday, at around 2:55 a.m., thieves broke into Ming Fu restaurant, located at 115 W. John Street. A few hours later, at around 7:41 a.m., they broke into Artful Gourmet Carryout and Catering, located at 131 E. John Street.

After further investigation, officers believe both break-ins were committed by the same people.

The two people in the pictures were driving an unknown black or dark SUV. No further details have been released.
