2 injured in west Charlotte shooting, police say

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two people were injured in a west Charlotte shooting Sunday night, police said.

Officials with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they went to the 4400 block of Courtney Ridge Lane around 10:44 p.m. for a robbery call and found two people with gunshot wounds.

Authorities said the victims have non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to be OK.

Channel 9 crews at the scene could see officers searching for evidence and focusing on a second-floor apartment.

CMPD officials said they believe the victims knew the suspect and that the investigation is ongoing.

The names of the victims have not been released and no arrests have been made.
