CHARLOTTE — Millions of teenagers find themselves in dangerous, abusive relationships every year, and one UNC Charlotte student wants to give others hope.
Phoebe Pruneda was in middle school when she found herself in a toxic relationship.
“He said something along the lines of, ‘Oh, if you don't want to have sex with me, I’m going to force you to,’” Pruneda said. “He had actually said the words, ‘I'm going to rape you if I have to.’”
February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month and she wants others to know her story.
>> In the video at the top of this webpage, Pruneda shares how she wants to help victims.
