• Union Co. deputies: CMPD officer arrested in assault on wife


    UNION COUNTY, N.C. - A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer was arrested after a domestic dispute in Union County, deputies said.

    Union County deputies said Michael Snider, 32, is accused of assaulting his wife during an argument.

    Snider's wife reported that he picked her up and threw her to the ground during an argument, deputies said.

    There is no word if she was injured.

    Snider has been with CMPD since 2003 and works in the Independence Division.

    CMPD said Snider has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation
