UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Union County has struggled for years to keep up with the growing number of families in need of shelter, but things are about to change.

A new shelter just opened up in Monore and is triple the size of the old one.
The facility can fill 90 beds instead of 28 and has a designated area for kids to play.
