Clinic in University City helps Hispanic community get COVID-19 vaccine

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — More than a million people in North Carolina have gotten the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, but there’s a huge disparity in who is receiving the shots.

Almost 79% of people vaccinated are white, 14% are people who are Black and only 2% are Hispanic.

Those numbers make events like the vaccine clinic in University City so important. The clinic is specifically aimed to help Charlotte’s Latino community.
