CHARLOTTE, N.C. — More than a million people in North Carolina have gotten the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, but there’s a huge disparity in who is receiving the shots.
Almost 79% of people vaccinated are white, 14% are people who are Black and only 2% are Hispanic.
Those numbers make events like the vaccine clinic in University City so important. The clinic is specifically aimed to help Charlotte’s Latino community.
>> In the video at the top of the page, Channel 9′s Glenn Counts was at the clinic and spoke to people as they got their shots.
