BURKE COUNTY, N.C. — A Burke County man who was shot by a SWAT team member during a standoff and later escaped from a hospital is in custody, authorities say.
Johnny Kaylor was arrested Friday during the heavy rainstorms after walking out of a hospital last Monday, two weeks after being shot.
According to our news partners at the Morganton News Herald, Kaylor stayed in a police car Monday afternoon while his charges were read to him at the local magistrate's office.
Kaylor's now facing multiple felony drug charges, including for trafficking methamphetamine and opium or heroin.

Kaylor's bond is set at $40,000. He'll make his first appearance in court on the charges Wednesday.
