WATCH: 'Grinch' steals 100 Christmas trees from NC farmers market

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. — What vendors are calling a real-life Grinch is on the prowl after stealing a trailer filled with 100 Christmas trees from a farmer’s market Sunday night.

Surveillance video from the WNC Farmers Market in Buncombe County shows someone hooking up a trailer filled with dozens of trees to their truck around 9 p.m.

WNC Farmers Market manager Doug Sutton said there were about 100 trees in the trailer, worth about $60 each.

"The Grinch who stole Christmas or something, yeah for this grower, I'm sure he did," said Sutton.

Officials said the trailer full of stolen trees was recovered in Spartanburg County Tuesday night and returned to the owner.

No arrests have been made at this point.
