CHARLOTTE, N.C. — To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper passed an executive order requiring face coverings to be worn when you’re in public spaces and unable to stay socially distanced from others.

Atrium Health, in partnership with Mecklenburg County and several other organizations, is supplying more than two million free masks to residents.

The City of Concord is also offering free masks to residents.

Distribution sites include Charlotte-area YMCA locations and local breweries, as well as public parks in Concord.

We’ve included a list of dates and locations below:

Atrium Health locations:

July 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Atrium Health, 801 East Blvd.

July 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Atrium Health NorthPark, 251 Eastway Dr.

YMCA locations:

Brace Family YMCA, 3127 Weddington Rd., Matthews

Monday – Friday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m.; Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon; Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

Dowd YMCA, 400 E. Morehead St.

Monday – Friday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 8 p.m.; Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

Harris YMCA, 5900 Quail Hollow Rd.

Concord locations:

July 14 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Caldwell Park, 362 Georgia St. SW

July 18 from 10 a.m. to noon at ClearWater Arts Center and Studios, 223 Crowell Dr. NW

In addition, Cabarrus County plans to hold drive-thru face covering distribution events on Saturday, July 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at each of the county’s four parks:
