• Woman accused of leaving kids in hot car while at Walmart

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A woman has been charged with leaving her two small kids in her car while she went inside the Walmart in University City.

    Janeth Trejo was arrested on Monday outside the Walmart on North Tryon Street.
            
    Officers said a 7-year-old and 2-year-old were rushed to the hospital after they were found in the hot car.

    The engine was off and it was close to 90 degrees outside.

    It's not clear how long the kids were alone.
