Woman released from hospital months after diagnosed with COVID-19 in fall

CHERAW, S.C. — A woman has been released from a hospital after 260 days due to contracting COVID-19.

Paris Pate has overcome many challenges on her road to recovery since she was admitted in the fall of 2021.

“Just tell anybody, everybody how good God is to me,” she said. “And God did it. God did it.”

Staff members at McLeod Health Cheraw who cared for Pate said her recovery was unusual and even miraculous.

In the video at the top of this webpage, reporter Tina Terry was at the hospital as family, friends and the community celebrated her recovery and return home.
