Wreath decorated in Cornelius delivered to Arlington National Cemetery

ARLINGTON, Va. — A wreath made in Cornelius was placed at one of the nation’s most revered sites.

On Sunday morning, a patriotic wreath decorated by Terry Garmon was put on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

The one-of-a-kind wreath was complete with holly, berries, pinecones and an American flag.

Garmon made the wreath just last week and said she wanted to do something different and patriotic.

The holly, berries and pinecones on it were picked out of her backyard.

Garmon made the wreath for the group Wreaths Across America, which makes it a holiday tradition to visit Arlington National Cemetery and cemeteries across the country to honor fallen veterans.

Garmon said she's honored to be a part of the tradition honoring the tomb.

"I think it turned out good, and I'm honored it's going to be used in Washington, in Arlington,” Garmon said.
