CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Telemundo Charlotte officially launched at 6 a.m. Thursday on WSOC-TV’s digital tier Channel 9.2 and on local cable providers throughout the Charlotte area.
Telemundo Charlotte is the only free, full-power, over the air, high-definition Spanish language station in the Charlotte market.
It will be home to the 2017 Confederations Cup beginning June 17 and it will also broadcast the FIFA World Cup in 2018.
Viewers who subscribe to cable will need to check with their cable company for the channel.
Charlotte is the fastest-growing Hispanic DMA in the Carolinas and the third fastest growing Hispanic DMA in the Southeast. The area has seen its Hispanic population increase by 177 percent since 2000.
