York Co. fight against Culture, Heritage Foundation could cost taxpayers

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — Taxpayers could end up paying $250,000 for York County's fight against the culture and heritage foundation over donated money and land.

According to the Herald in Rock Hill, council members voted in June to sue the foundation because in 2012 it decided to stop exclusively supporting county museums.

Since then it has spent nearly $72,000 on expenses associated with the case.

The county wants to make sure all donations given to the foundation before the decision still make it to the museums.
