Mother, 2 children die in mobile home fire

WALLBURG, N.C. — (AP) Officials say a woman her two children have died in a fire at a mobile home in Davidson County.

Firefighters were called around 2 a.m. Tuesday to the home on NC 109 near Wallburg Elementary School.

Officials said a man tried to save his family but was restrained by firefighters to prevent him from going back inside the burning home.

He suffered burns and was taken to a hospital.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Firefighters are trying to determine how the blaze started.
