Police: Newly-married couple stabbed man 20 times 'for the thrill'

PENNSYLVANIA — A newly-married couple from North Carolina is accused of killing a man just for the thrill of it.

Police said Elytte and Miranda Barbour -- married just three weeks ago -- lured a 42-year-old man with a Craigslist sex ad and then stabbed him 20 times and strangled him.

They had just moved to Pennsylvania from Dunn, N.C.

They told police they just wanted to kill someone together.

The last number on the victim's phone led police to the Barbours.

"They had tried to kill other individuals together, and this happened to be one that actually worked," said Chief Stephen Mazzeo.

Police said Miranda picked the victim up at a mall while her husband hid under a blanket in the back seat.

They said they had a prearranged signal so he would know it was time to kill the victim.
