CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Kelijah Hall is suing Nissan and Takata for more than $75,000 plus punitive damages.
Hall said she was in a wreck on Lawyers Road in east Charlotte in 2015. She was 19 years old at the time of the accident.
She claims her air bag "exploded, ruptured and burst" and that metal fragments hit her face. She said she lost vision in her right eye.
Her eye bled, got infected and needed multiple operations. She said it also left her with cosmetic problems for life.
Nissan told Action 9 it doesn't comment on pending litigation, and Takata hasn't responded.
The Takata air bag recall is the largest in U.S. history, which involved more than 50 million air bags.
