HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A North Carolina sheriff's office says two 16-year-old students have been arrested in connection with assaults on school workers.

The Henderson County Sheriff's Office tells local media that one teenager assaulted a school official at Henderson County Public School Career Academy and the other one assaulted the same school official and a bus driver.

According to the sheriff's office, the assaults took place at the end of the school day Thursday as the students were leaving. Both were arrested and released from custody on Monday after making bail.

Multiple charges were filed against the student who assaulted only the school official. The other student is charged with two counts of assault on a school employee. Both are free on bond and are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
