Deputies charge North Carolina man of starving puppy

COVE CITY, N.C. — A North Carolina sheriff's office has accused a man of starving a German shepherd puppy to death.

The Craven County Sheriff's Office said on its Facebook page that an investigation began after it received a complaint involving a puppy being found dead at a home in Cove City.

The sheriff's office said the investigation determined that the puppy died from starvation, and that it hadn't been vaccinated for rabies.

Authorities charged 67-year-old Eddie Bryant of Cove City with felony killing of an animal by starvation and failurte to vaccinate for rabies. Bryant's status couldn't be determined on Thursday.
