• Final victim released from hospital after State Fair accident

    RALEIGH - The final victim from the Vortex ride accident at the North Carolina State Fair has been released from the hospital, nearly four months after the accident took place.

    Anthony Gorham was released Wednesday. Five people were seriously hurt when the ride suddenly started up again.

    Reports indicate the ride was tampered with.

    Ride owner Josh Macaroni and operator Timothy Tutterrow have both been charged with multiple counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
