Legislators look to name building after fallen forest officer

NEBO, N.C. — A ranger station could soon honor a North Carolina forest officer killed in the line of duty.

U.S. Rep. Mark Meadows and the entire North Carolina House delegation introduced a bill Tuesday to designate this ranger station in Nebo as the Jason Crisp Forest Service Building.

Crisp and his K-9 partner Maros were shot and killed by Troy Whisnant during a manhunt in March.
