• More accusers come forward after pastor's sex crimes arrest

BELMONT, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina prosecutors say three people have come forward and accused a pastor of sexually assaulting them, after the man was arrested on similar accusations.

News outlets report after 24-year-old Nicholas Martin's arrest Sunday, three more people contacted Gaston County police and accused the pastor of sexual abuse. Martin was an associate pastor at North Belmont Church of God in Belmont.

Martin was charged Sunday with sex crimes involving a 14-year-old including indecent liberties with a minor and indecent exposure. Arrest warrants say Martin abused the 14-year-old from October 2018 until September 2019.

In court Monday, prosecutors said the three additional victims were abused in Martin's home when his wife was present.

It's unclear whether Martin will face additional charges. It's also unclear whether Martin has an attorney.
