NC man accused of strangling kitten before threatening owner's brother

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — A North Carolina man is accused of strangling a kitten and leaving it outside the owner's home as a threat.

The Daily News of Jacksonville reports 21-year-old Darwin Jarmaul Robinson Jr. was arrested Saturday on charges including animal cruelty.

Arrest records say he killed the grey kitten and placed its body in the owner's driveway before calling the owner and threatening to do the same thing to the owner's brother.

Court records say Robinson's bail was set at $3,500. He was ordered to avoid contact with the kitten's owner until the case is resolved.

He has several upcoming court dates for older charges including breaking and entering, assaulting a woman and trespassing. It's unclear if these charges are related or if he has a lawyer.
