North Carolina Zoo closes because of snow, ice

ASHEBORO, N.C. — UPDATE: The North Carolina Zoo will be closed on Thursday due to snow and ice.

Earlier, the North Carolina Zoo offered half-priced admission while a bitter cold wave swept the South, that gave visitors a chance to see polar bears frolic in their kind of weather.
