HICKORY, N.C. (AP) - It was a token gesture, but it only served to fuel frustration for a North Carolina store clerk.

The Hickory Daily Record reports police said employees at a convenience store discovered two rolls of quarters used to buy gasoline actually turned out to be rolls of game tokens. A news release from the Hickory Police Department said the tokens were taken from a local arcade.

Capt. Bryan Adams said the unidentified woman who made the fake payment had left the property by the time the coins were discovered. Adams said the woman is a frequent customer at the store.

The incident occurred Tuesday, and police say the woman will be charged with felony obtaining property by false pretense when she is apprehended.
